Shakespeare Educational Tour

KSC has collaborated with the City of Thousand Oaks Arts Commission and the Conejo Valley Unified School District to deliver to elementary schools in the region a program of workshops and performances supplemented by lesson units. Since its introduction in 2000, approximately 5,000 K-6 students have participated in this program. Since 2001 KSC has staged fully mounted productions of Shakespeare's plays for elementary, middle and high schools in daytime performances in the Janet and Ray Scherr Forum Theatre of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza. Already, thousands of students have been introduced to Shakespeare through these performances. Weekend public performances of the plays have also been offered.
